Botanical Printing STEAM technique

Service Description

Join Leslie Marsh for this one-day workshop in which students will be introduced to the art of botanical printing. Participants will use very simple ingredients -- leaves, water and heat -- to make beautiful prints on fabric and paper. Gathering materials from windf-allen leaves, florist’s filler and grocery discards, students will create stunning pages and blocks of fabric. Then, using a simple binding technique, we’ll sew our pages into a small reference journal to record our experiments with different materials. Materials will be provided, however, students are welcome to bring their own scraps of fabric or paper to play with. Natural fibers, such as silk and wool work best.
